Our Delivery Charges - The Truth!

Nobody loves delivery charges, we know that. But in this brave new world of online shopping that we all inhabit, we all know that someone has to pay to get your stuff to your house. The driver/postie/delivery person has to be paid for working and the van he/she/someone drives is expensive to run - etc. In a big effort to be fair to all our customers - this is how we arrange it:

If you order just a few small things (officially, that's below 2kg)i, we make hardly anything, so we ask you to pay £3.95 towards the cost of delivery. The full cost of Royal Mail's service is £4.05 so we just top-up the small difference - because £3.95 sounds considerably less than £4.05 so it's less upsetting! That applies to your order up to a total (including the packaging) of 2kgs weight.

When you order over 2kgs, the chances are (depending what you are buying) that we are making a few quid, not a big profit, just a few quid. So now, over 2kgs, DPD are the carrier because Royal Mail won't do it. That service costs us £7.05 - but we still only ask you to pay the £3.95 as your contribution and we cover the rest. That's because you are a good customer and we want to be fair.

If you spend over £50 then DPD still charge us £7.05 but we pay all of it and all you pay for is your stuff. Â
