About BlindMan Coffee
First off, the name - BlindMan Coffee. I got well & truly hooked on coffee while living in Brazil (Rio for a couple of years) then owned and ran a deli and coffee shop in Brighton. I was shocked to discover I had inherited an eye disease. That diagnoses took my drivers licence with immediate effect (literally, I couldn't even legally drive home) and would eventually take my sight completely. I was handed a certificate and the consultant's tick was next to the box that said "Severely Sight Impaired/Blind". My life disintegrated and I returned to Yorkshire and my family. A job in a coffee roastery was offered - I stayed there for a couple of years and it was the education, the apprenticeship I needed on how to actually run a quality coffee business. I moved to a tiny cottage in The Yorkshire Dales and decided I'd get the 'Blind' bit to repay some of the things it had taken. So of course - it had to be BlindMan Coffee.Â
Roasting coffee consistently brilliantly is a skilled business so I work with a long time partner roastery, in Yorkshire, who are experts in what they do. Â
